Amelia and Patrick's Syracuse University infused wedding day in Skaneateles was a perfect day in late September. These two connected as undergrads and they celebrated their SU roots in many ways on their wedding day (I bet you can spot an SU reference in nearly every picture)! You can tell Patrick and Amelia are in it for the long run, they have an easiness with each other that has been perfected over the years. I have never seen such a happy bride on her wedding day, every time Lauren looked at Cary she just beamed the most radiant smile! It probably had something to do with the fact that Cary and Lauren were apart for the month before their wedding, he made it back from their home in Uganda just days before their ceremony. It was a privilege to photograph their wedding day at Anyela's Vineyard and spend the day getting to know their lovely friends and family. Jessica and David's wedding day started out bleak with heavy downpours all morning but as Jessica stepped into the church to exchange her vows with David the sun came out and shined brightly for the remainder of the day, providing another glittering day for wedding photography in Skaneateles! David and Jessica had a lovely reception at the Sherwood Inn but before we got there I flagged down their limo en route to the reception when I spotted a roadside patch of vibrant wildflowers...I was worried they would be annoyed but Jessica and David were so excited because they had been eyeing the flowers as well! It is so rewarding when couples allow you the time and flexibility to be spontaneous on their wedding day, I believe the greatest moments are unexpected and unscripted...the small "in-between" moments prove over and over again to be the stand-out images of wedding. When you allow your photographer time to observe and flex their artistic muscles you get a much richer set of images than if you have busied them with extensive "must have" shot lists. I owe a huge thanks to Jessica and David for being up for anything and just delightful to work with, be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the post to see their lantern launch (I hope to see more of these at weddings in the future)!

Kara and Daniel's wedding day started out on the dreary side but the rain broke and brought the most spectacular sunset I have seen in ages, the Aurora Inn is a fabulous place to take in the daily event with their impressive lake views! The day started at the newest Inns of Aurora property, Rowland House which provided a stunning backdrop for some sweet bridal portraits and getting ready pics. The ceremony was held at Long Point Winery which overlooks Cayuga lake and the spot where Daniel proposed to Katherine near the lakeshore...it was so perfectly romantic! The festivities moved to the Aurora Inn where the reception was dripping in flowers from the talented folks at Plenty of Posies and amazing food from the incredible chefs at the Inn. I am so grateful that Katherine and Daniel chose me to document their wedding, it was a complete pleasure getting to know you both, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Sarah and Kevin were married at her parent's lakeside camp, it's a location that is close to her heart..she has been coming to the camp her entire life (a summer tradition started by her grandmother many decades earlier). Sarah has so many fond memories from her childhood on the lake that she couldn't think of a more perfect location to tie the knot with her sweetheart. After the lakeside ceremony the party moved across the street to the quaint Hamilton Inn for a lovely reception under a grand tent. Even though it rained just a tad on their day it didn't damper their spirits, it just added an element of cozy romance! Congrats to you both, may you have a long and happy marriage!

Amy and Joe were married on a sparkling fall day in Skaneateles at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by a charming and rustic reception at the Mandana Barn. It was a real pleasure documenting their wedding because there were so many personal touches incorporated into their day. I loved the square dance that followed dinner, where Amy danced and Joe played the fiddle along with his fellow bluegrass musicians. Once the bluegrass band wrapped it was fun seeing Amy and her friends let loose when the DJ played a little Bon Jovi! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, that shouldn't be a problem since you are both delightful (I am so lucky to get such great couples).
