Lauren and Chris got married lakeside at Emerson Park Pavilion on a spectacular June day. Lauren did an amazing job designing every element at her wedding, she created everything from the stationary to hand crafting the wooden table numbers! Not an detail was overlooked...it was a beautiful reception for a lovely couple!! I couldn't have done it with out my sidekick, Lauren Youngs...thanks for contributing some lovely images!

These college sweethearts couldn't have asked for a more spectacular day, not only did they have perfect weather but they were surrounded by a fantastic group of family and friends that kept the couple laughing the entire day. Thanks again for choosing me to document your day, it was fantastic!

Anne and Phil wanted to do a day after shoot that reflected their love of the outdoors so they chose Taughannock falls for a playful photo session in the woods and water. These two were absolutely the best ever to work with, they had so much fun the entire time even when I asked them to lie-down in some questionable woodsy places and to dance in a river...they were just basking in their newlywed afterglow! On another note, check out how good her bouquet looks more than 24 hours later, Plenty of Posies did an amazing job!

Anne and Phil's wedding day was complete perfection (status quo for the Aurora Inn)! They were surrounded by great music, friends, family, and the love between the newlyweds was completely electric. Sarah and Kevin are going to tie the knot at her family's lake house camp in Hamilton, NY. She's the THIRD generation to spend time at the camp dotting the waterfront across from the Hamilton Inn so it was a no brainer to choose the very sentimental spot to marry her sweetheart, Kevin. We shot these in May but it may have well as been March because it was freezing, a huge thanks to Kevin for trying to keep Sarah warm...let's hope for warmer temps for your wedding day!!

Amanda and Greg chose the most beautiful spring evening in Skaneateles to shoot some jaw droppingly GORGEOUS pictures!!! Greg was a very good sport, the guy hates doing the photo thing but he certainly loves Amanda and he put up with the two of us to get some really nice moments, thank you Greg! I can not wait to get my hands on these two when they are all decked out for their wedding day celebration at Anyela's Vineyard!

Christie and Rich met at the University of Virginia as first years, they fell hard and and fast but as we all know not all college sweethearts make it past graduation. Fast forward 20 years to a beautiful spring day bursting with blossoms at the Skaneateles Country Club to their wedding day. It was a pleasure documenting this wonderful celebration of second chances, first loves are such powerful forces in our lives and you can certainly see that reflected in the images made on their day. Thank you for including me in your celebration even if you and your guests harassed me for being a Virginia Tech alumni (Go Hokies)!
Read moreInns of Aurora - The Rowland House and Dorie's Bakery
The Inns of Aurora have just added two fabulous properties to their already impressive lineup! I had the privilege of photographing their newest gem, the Rowland House, on its opening day. It is a lovely lakefront mansion that has been remade, the team has done an excellent job of marrying modern furnishings with the traditional elements of the historic 1902 home. I especially loved the light fixtures and the impressive art on loan from philanthropist Pleasant T. Rowland's personal collection. There are ten guest rooms and I anticipate documenting many bridal parties as they prepare for weddings (I am really looking forward to seeing the greek temple and the two story boathouse once landscaping is complete). The third floor rooms are more playful as they are lavishly decorated with MacKenzie-Childs' bold designs and accessories. It was hard to choose a favorite from the hot pink room, the hand painted polka dot room, the hand painted "courtly check" room, and the Russian antiques room! After shooting at the Rowland house I took a quick stroll down to Dorie's Bakery, a lovely little lakefront spot offering many treats made on site by the Inns of Aurora's pastry chefs. If you are in town you must stop by and treat yourself to some wholesome quiche or a decadent confection (or three)! I can't wait to see what the Inns of Aurora does in the future, they consistently impress me with their style and class and I always look forward to the weddings that I have the pleasure to shoot on their properties!!

Amy and Joe were married on a sparkling fall day in Skaneateles at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by a charming and rustic reception at the Mandana Barn. It was a real pleasure documenting their wedding because there were so many personal touches incorporated into their day. I loved the square dance that followed dinner, where Amy danced and Joe played the fiddle along with his fellow bluegrass musicians. Once the bluegrass band wrapped it was fun seeing Amy and her friends let loose when the DJ played a little Bon Jovi! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, that shouldn't be a problem since you are both delightful (I am so lucky to get such great couples).

Megan is a about as obsessed with Pinterest as I am, she came armed with many wonderful handmade props and tons of ideas for images she wanted to create at the picturesque Watkins Glen Falls. Bill is one of the most patient grooms I have ever encountered since he happily agreed to try all of our unconventional ideas (you really earned a post session drink...or four). In addition to trying out all sorts of new ideas we went to the park on a very busy Saturday afternoon so we spent a good amount of time waiting for the sightseers/gawkers/well-wishers to move out of the frame! When the opportunity arose to jump a wall and get into the stream I was all over it (despite being 7 months pregnant), if you ever go on a shoot with me you'll quickly discover that I am a bit of a rule breaker and I love it when my clients are up to my adventures! Thanks for a fun shoot Bill and Megan!
