Sarah & Michael - Aurora Inn Wedding

Sarah and Michael had a spectacular day at the always spectacular Aurora Inn. I absolutely love shooting weddings here, it's a shame I won't be back until June of next year! Some of my favorite moments from Sarah and Michael's wedding were Michael's reaction during the first look, the lavender toss as they walked down the aisle as a married couple and when Sarah and her father both burst into tears before a word had been spoken when I asked him if he had any advice for his daughter on her wedding day. I wish these two a lifetime of laughter and love...if their marriage is to be anything like their wedding day that shouldn't be a problem!

Nita & Kai - Inns of Aurora Wedding

I love the way Nita and Kai look at each other, it's the kind of love and affection that really warms your heart to witness. We started at the Rowland House, it doesn't get much better than a first look next to the Greek-folly overlooking the lake. For their ceremony and reception we made our way to the Inns of Aurora. The sunset was spectacular, the ENTIRE wedding made their way to the shore to watch the brilliant colors transform the lake. It was a pleasure to document their intimate Inns of Aurora wedding day, working with a couple that is so clearly in love with each other is a dream! I wish you a marriage as brilliant as your wedding day, thank you for allowing me to document your beautiful day!

Kate & Alex - Inns of Aurora Wedding

Kate and Alex did not have the perfect wedding...what they had was beautiful despite heartache. Kate was suffering the tremendous loss of her very dear step-father who had suddenly passed just prior to their wedding. The perfect wedding would have had him escorting her down the aisle and she would have danced with him rather than her mother for the parent dances. He would have been present for the clever toasts and loving words shared by her maid of honor and Alex's best man. I have never witnessed such strength and grace in the midst of grief, she was a rock. Alex you are terribly lucky to have found such a kind and resilient person to share your life with, I suspect that she draws from you those qualities I so admired in her on your wedding day. You both are such lovely people and I can only image a wonderful future for you as you grow old together. Thank you for reminding me that although life is sometimes painful, if you can muster the strength to look past the turmoil, there is always beauty around us...as long as you choose to see it. Inns of Aurora you have done it again, a lovely backdrop to a beautiful celebration.

Jessica & Ryan - Aurora Inn Wedding

Jessica and Ryan are almost too good to be true but I promise you they are not models I hired to document the perfect wedding at the Aurora Inn! Eventhough it poured all day (except for a 20 minute interval during cocktail hour) these two were delightful and the proof is in the genuine smiles they sported all day. It just goes to show you that rain on your wedding day will not ruin your day...unless you let it! With a great attitude and a positive outlook beautiful images can be made in all sorts of conditions and circumstances. I wish Jessica and Ryan the most fabulous lifetime together and I hope they decide to relocate to CNY since I desperately want to hang out again...love you guys!!

Lindsey & William - The Aurora Inn Wedding

Lindsey and William were married at the Aurora Inn over the 4th of July weekend and they had the most amazing weather...a real gift after the 6+ weeks of rain that proceeded their nuptials. Lindsey spent her summers on Cayuga lake, just a short distance away from the Inns of Aurora so these current Virginians decided to make it a fingerlakes destination wedding. Eventhough the wedding was in New York William made sure to represent his UVA pride by incorporating navy and orange into the wedding. Personally, I would have thought burgundy and orange would have been a better choice...go Hokies(I couldn't resist)! I wish you all the best!

Rebecca & Luke - Rowland House Wedding

Rebecca and Luke met online and they wed a few years later in an intimate mid-November ceremony and reception at the Rowland House, it was the most perfect sweet little wedding to close out the busy year. I was nervous about the likelihood that we would be inside most of the day (I do love my natural light) but I had nothing to worry about because the backdrop of the Rowland House combined with Rebecca's and Luke's glow was all I needed to capture lovely moments!

Kara & Daniel - Aurora Inn Wedding

Kara and Daniel's wedding day started out on the dreary side but the rain broke and brought the most spectacular sunset I have seen in ages, the Aurora Inn is a fabulous place to take in the daily event with their impressive lake views! Couples take note...there are some distinct advantages to having some rain on your wedding day! I wish Kara and Daniel loads of luck as they continue their lives in my old stomping grounds, Wahington, D.C. A huge thanks to my partner in crime, Lauren Youngs, for her hard work, talent, and always bringing her best!

Katherine & Daniel - Long Point Winery and Aurora Inn Wedding

Katherine and Daniel are just fabulous and so was their wedding!! The day started at the newest Inns of Aurora property, Rowland House which provided a stunning backdrop for some sweet bridal portraits and getting ready pics. The ceremony was held at Long Point Winery which overlooks Cayuga lake and the spot where Daniel proposed to Katherine near the lakeshore...it was so perfectly romantic! The festivities moved to the Aurora Inn where the reception was dripping in flowers from the talented folks at Plenty of Posies and amazing food from the incredible chefs at the Inn. Erin & Dave - Aurora Inn Wedding

Erin and Dave are two of the nicest and most genuinely in love people I have ever met. It became very clear to me how much they complement each other when Dave was able to erase Erin's pre-wedding jitters with just one sweet embrace during the first look, he truly put her at ease and brought out Erin's radiant smile in seconds (yet another reason to do a first look)! I wish you both a lifetime of joy, you already had a very joyous wedding day! Special thanks to my wing-gal extraordinaire, Lauren Youngs...I couldn't do this without you!

Inns of Aurora - The Rowland House and Dorie's Bakery

The Inns of Aurora have just added two fabulous properties to their already impressive lineup! I had the privilege of photographing their newest gem, the Rowland House, on its opening day. It is a lovely lakefront mansion that has been remade, the team has done an excellent job of marrying modern furnishings with the traditional elements of the historic 1902 home. I especially loved the light fixtures and the impressive art on loan from philanthropist Pleasant T. Rowland's personal collection. There are ten guest rooms and I anticipate documenting many bridal parties as they prepare for weddings (I am really looking forward to seeing the greek temple and the two story boathouse once landscaping is complete). The third floor rooms are more playful as they are lavishly decorated with MacKenzie-Childs' bold designs and accessories. It was hard to choose a favorite from the hot pink room, the hand painted polka dot room, the hand painted "courtly check" room, and the Russian antiques room! After shooting at the Rowland house I took a quick stroll down to Dorie's Bakery, a lovely little lakefront spot offering many treats made on site by the Inns of Aurora's pastry chefs. If you are in town you must stop by and treat yourself to some wholesome quiche or a decadent confection (or three)! I can't wait to see what the Inns of Aurora does in the future, they consistently impress me with their style and class and I always look forward to the weddings that I have the pleasure to shoot on their properties!!

Erin & David - Wintery Aurora Inn Engagement Session

Erin and David braved very chilly temperatures at the always lovely Aurora Inn...the cold certainly didn't seem to keep these two lovebirds from snuggling up and making some amazingly intimate images. Thanks to both of them for putting up with crazy temps, the soul sucking winds and with their incredibly pregnant photographer...I can't wait to do it all over again in July for their Aurora Inn wedding!
