Erin and Michael had a beautiful wedding day at Emerson Park Pavilion. All day they were surrounded with lovely people! Everyone from their officiant, wedding party and guests were all delightful and with such positive energy in the air you can't take a bad picture. I was so pleased with the images from this wedding I posted not one but two blog entries (see the veil post here) and just incase you are on the fence about whether or not to wear a veil my answer is YES, YES, YES...the longer the better!! Erin and Michael thank you for sharing your joy with me, may that happiness be with you throughout your marriage!

Laura and Nikolas are getting married in November at the Lodge at Welch Allyn but before they tie the knot they spent a gorgeous evening with me in Skaneateles. The were such good sports, they were all in when I suggested we take a walk through a wheat field (frankly, if I had suggested we take a walk through hot lava they would have agreed just to get away from the lookie-loos and well wishers in town)! Thanks for taking my suggestions and making them look so great, see you in November!!!

Jessica and Ryan are a sweet couple who live in D.C. but are getting married closer to their childhood home at the always stunning Aurora Inn. We spent a beautiful Sunday evening at Long Point State Park and the light was amazing! I'm looking forward to spending the day with this adorable pair on their wedding day and hoping for the same sunset!!!!

Lindsey and William were married at the Aurora Inn over the 4th of July weekend and they had the most amazing weather...a real gift after the 6+ weeks of rain that proceeded their nuptials. Lindsey spent her summers on Cayuga lake, just a short distance away from the Inns of Aurora so these current Virginians decided to make it a fingerlakes destination wedding. Eventhough the wedding was in New York William made sure to represent his UVA pride by incorporating navy and orange into the wedding. Personally, I would have thought burgundy and orange would have been a better choice...go Hokies(I couldn't resist)! I wish you all the best!
Read moreRuth Ann & Stacy - The Pines & Mandana Barn Wedding
Ruth Ann and Stacy's wedding weekend began on June 26, 2015 the same day the Supreme Court declared that same sex marriage is legal in all 50 states (amazing timing, right!!!). They started the festivities at The Pines, a sprawling camp on Skaneateles Lake that has been in Ruth Ann's family for over 100 years. It's a delightful place where childhood summers were spent and Ruth Ann made wonderful memories so it was a natural choice to gather their loved ones here to celebrate their union on the eve of their wedding day! The casual gathering felt much like a loving family reunion and it was filled with kids swimming and fishing, mayflies hatching, lakeside campfires, craft brews, laughter, ice-cream, Dinosaur BBQ, and potato guns! Check out the later part of this post to see some of the rehearsal dinner festivities. Their wedding day started out uneventful but as the day went on heavy rains arrived and they departed only for a few brief moments during the rest of the day. As hard as the rain fell it did not dampen Stacy or Ruth Ann's spirits, they were nothing but joy through it all (even when fierce winds knocked down their beautiful arbor during their ceremony). It was a complete pleasure documenting Stacy and Ruth Ann's Mandana Barn wedding celebration because they were so darn happy and because they put some much thought into everything. I especially love that they dined on their grandmother's and mother's china and the lip whistles they surprised their guests with at the ceremony so they could blow kisses at them during their first kiss as a married couple!

Sara and Anthony are a sweet couple that planned their engagement session exactly one year to their wedding date (I told you they were sweet). They are getting married next June in Skaneateles and then celebrating at the Lodge at Welch Allyn. We decided to spend a rainy evening lakeside and then we went frolicking through the gardens at Mirbeau...who says you can't make pretty pictures in drizzle!

Sheena and Reid are a quiet and unassuming couple that are getting hitched next year at the Inns of Aurora and I couldn't be more pleased that they chose me to document their wedding day (I can't ask for more than a nice couple and the Aurora Inn as a backdrop). We spent a sparkling evening on the grounds of the Aurora Inn and we made some lovely images that I feel reflects their sweet dispositions! See you in a year!!

Lauren and James are getting married in at the Brewster Inn in Cazenovia in a few short weeks!! Although they are quite the power couple that live and work in NYC they chose to get married in James' hometown of Cazenovia where he grew up on Critz farms, a place where magical family memories are made. I imagine James had a charmed childhood growing up among the orchards, pumpkin fields and the sugar house...a place that is very special and a natural choice for their engagement session. I love it when we can use the engagement session to incorporate elements of a couple's story that can't be told on their wedding day. I am really looking forward to documenting their Cazenovia wedding day!

Leah and Matt could quit their day jobs and work as body doubles for Prince William and Kate Middleton (except that I think they are both more attractive than the royals)! They were up for anything and they were even excited when I suggested starting our session at a fish hatchery (whahhh). I thought it would be nice to incorporate a little nature in the engagement session since they will be celebrating their marriage at the Frog Pond Bed and Breakfast in October. Have I mentioned how much I love these two and how great the Frog Pond is...I will be in photographer's paradise with such great subjects it won't even feel like work to document their wedding day!!

They will be tying the knot in early October at the Lodge at Welch Allyn...I can't wait for your fall wedding day!!

I don't know even where to begin with Melissa & Jordan...I left their Frog Pond wedding wishing they (and all their friends) could be my new best friends! I have never been to a more entertaining/thoughtful/touching/funny/unique wedding! They made the ceremony and reception so remarkable by incorporating their incredibly talented friends and family in every aspect of the celebration. Some of the many highlights included a little stand-up comedy, a shakespeare reading, a cellist, a violinist, folk singers, wonderful toasts, and an opera singer! These two are simply wonderful!!! P.S. the Frog Pond is an amazing place to host a wedding, I hope to get many more Frog Pond weddings!!

Lizzie and Andrew are brilliant doctors fresh out of medical school and headed to L.A. to start their careers but before they make that transition they tied the knot in a lovely ceremony and reception at the Lodge at Welch Allyn. Their day was punctuated with periods of severe thunderstorms. Those storms added a lot of atmosphere...especially during the ceremony when Andrew slipped the ring on Lizzie's finger and in dramatic fashion intense thunder rumbled through the building and caused all in attendance to laugh, proving that mother nature must have a sense of humor and she certainly has good timing! Don't ever let anyone tell you that rain can ruin a wedding day, it simply adds to your story.

Rebecca and Luke met online and they wed a few years later in an intimate mid-November ceremony and reception at the Rowland House, it was the most perfect sweet little wedding to close out the busy year. I was nervous about the likelihood that we would be inside most of the day (I do love my natural light) but I had nothing to worry about because the backdrop of the Rowland House combined with Rebecca's and Luke's glow was all I needed to capture lovely moments!

This very sweet couple are under a lot of stress at the moment (they have been interviewing for residency programs) but you would have never known it since the smiles and laughter were so easy to come by. I am looking forward to capturing more dance moves at your Lodge at Welch Allyn wedding in May!

Leah and Patrick have the most touching proposal story I have ever heard. This is what Leah sent me in her initial email, "I have recently become engaged to my boyfriend of almost 8 years. He proposed to me in the village of Skaneateles, on the water, on the 5 year anniversary of my father's death. It was a very special day, with a very special person. My fiancé wanted me to finally have a happy memory of such a tragic day in my life. I would love for you to capture each moment of my wedding day." I want to applaud Patrick for being an incredibly thoughtful and kind man for bringing a glimmer of joy into a very dark day in her life, Leah you have a wonderful man (Patrick you're a lucky guy, too)! I am so honored they chose me to document their wedding day!

Erin & Michael were just delightful to photograph for their engagement session at Beak & Skiff's Apple Hill. These two make each other glow...you would never have known it was drizzling during the session! I am always so excited when my couples have as much chemistry as Erin and Michael, it's impossible not to capture wonderfully intimate and playful moments when there is so much affection between a couple. The sparks were flying on a chilly October afternoon so I can't wait to see what these two bring for their July nuptials at the Emerson Park Pavilion.
