Lindsay & Michael - Lodge at Welch Allyn Wedding

Lindsay and Michael were married on a gray day in October but that didn't stop us from bringing the color when we took a little detour into a field of wildflowers on our way to their Lodge at Welch Allyn reception. I just love it when my clients trust me and play along with my crazy ideas (thanks for walking down those docks, ladies)! Some of my favorite moments from the day were when Lindsay teared up as her father escorted her down the aisle and when Michael fist pumped all the way down the aisle after they were declared man and wife (so cute). I wish you many happy years!!

Jaime & Ryan - Anyela's Vineyard Wedding

Jaime and Ryan are two of the kindest people I have met, it was a joy to see how happy they make each other and to photograph their wedding celebration at Anyela's Vineyard. This was yet another wedding where it rained almost the entire day but it didn't stop these two from glowing. It started to pour just as they were exiting the ceremony at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Marcellus but it let up briefly at one of the most picturesque spots in the Fingerlakes, Anyela's Vineyard. I am so grateful to have such great couples that embrace what comes their way and makes the best of it, Jaime and Ryan thanks for all the smiles despite what the rain brought!!

Jessica & Ryan - Aurora Inn Wedding

Jessica and Ryan are almost too good to be true but I promise you they are not models I hired to document the perfect wedding at the Aurora Inn! Eventhough it poured all day (except for a 20 minute interval during cocktail hour) these two were delightful and the proof is in the genuine smiles they sported all day. It just goes to show you that rain on your wedding day will not ruin your day...unless you let it! With a great attitude and a positive outlook beautiful images can be made in all sorts of conditions and circumstances. I wish Jessica and Ryan the most fabulous lifetime together and I hope they decide to relocate to CNY since I desperately want to hang out again...love you guys!!

Lauren & James - Brewster Inn Wedding

Lake in central New York. Although this power couple live and work in NYC they chose James' hometown of Cazenovia for their wedding day because of its refreshing small town charm. The wedding was quite elegant and traditional except when James grabbed the mic and surprised everyone with his freestyle rapping skills, the guy is legit...he just might be able to quit his day job! It was delightful to photograph a Cazenovia wedding and I hope to get back soon, thanks again for having me Lauren and James!

Leah & Pat – Turning Stone Casino Wedding

Leah and Pat were married in her beautiful childhood parish, Blessed Sacrament, in downtown Syracuse and then celebrated their wedding at Turning Stone in Verona, NY. I loved all the sentimental details that Leah included in tribute to her late father, he was definitely present and it shows in the images. These two meticulously planned their wedding so when a few hiccups in the timing arose it didn’t matter in the slightest because we accounted for the inevitable wedding day delays. I have yet to photograph a wedding that ran exactly on schedule, no matter how perfectly you plan and prepare for your wedding day there are ALWAYS delays. That’s why when I create timelines for my couples I budget a lot more time for portraits than is necessary, that way when we get a late start we have enough time to get the images you want without missing out on the festivities. Much love to you both!!!

Rosie & J.B. - Skaneateles Country Club Wedding

Rosie and J.B. were married at St. Mary's of the Lake in Skaneateles and celebrated at the Skaneateles Country Club on a perfect Saturday in August. One thing I loved about their wedding day was Rosie's choice to do portraits on the grounds of Hobbit Hollow, a gorgeous inn and horse farm near the country club. I strongly recommend setting aside plenty of time for pictures of just the newlyweds on your wedding day and the best way to accomplish that without missing out on your reception is to do a first look, make the most of that time by selecting a backdrop worthy of your wedding day...you won't regret setting aside the time when you have tons of great images to pore over after your wedding day!

Kelly & Tyler - Skaneateles Country Club Wedding

Kelly and Tyler are an incredibly energetic couple who surrounded themselves with an equally animated and huge wedding party making for a wild and fun wedding. It was a lot of work keeping this group wrangled but I was able to collect a range of images that documented their fun-loving ways while still managing to collect a few quiet moments in between the partying. Kelly and Tyler slipped away at the end of dinner to get some beautiful photographs on the docks of the Skaneateles Country Club. I love it when clients trust me, happily take my recommendations, and give me the space to step back and document a wedding rather than keeping me busy with extensive shot lists. Thanks Kelly and Tyler!!

Suzan & Jared - Emerson Park Pavilion Wedding

Suzan and Jared were married on a gorgeous Saturday in July. They started their wedding day in style at Mirbeau Inn and Spa one of my absolute favorite spots, it doesn't get any better than the gardens for a first look! It is so important to allow enough time for portraits on your wedding day, I think most couples underestimate how much time it actually takes to get comfortable in front of the lens (even when you have already done an engagement session). Suzan and Jared planned well by taking advantage of the gorgeous gardens at Mirbeau before heading out to their ceremony and reception at the Emerson Park Pavilion. It's great that they allowed for the extra time together before the ceremony since a tremendous thunderstorm hit right when we had planned for some sweet light portraits at Emerson. Enjoy the lavash wedding that Suzan and Jared created, much love to you both!!

Erin & Michael - Emerson Park Pavilion Wedding

Erin and Michael had a beautiful wedding day at Emerson Park Pavilion. All day they were surrounded with lovely people! Everyone from their officiant, wedding party and guests were all delightful and with such positive energy in the air you can't take a bad picture. I was so pleased with the images from this wedding I posted not one but two blog entries (see the veil post here) and just incase you are on the fence about whether or not to wear a veil my answer is YES, YES, YES...the longer the better!! Erin and Michael thank you for sharing your joy with me, may that happiness be with you throughout your marriage!

Lindsey & William - The Aurora Inn Wedding

Lindsey and William were married at the Aurora Inn over the 4th of July weekend and they had the most amazing weather...a real gift after the 6+ weeks of rain that proceeded their nuptials. Lindsey spent her summers on Cayuga lake, just a short distance away from the Inns of Aurora so these current Virginians decided to make it a fingerlakes destination wedding. Eventhough the wedding was in New York William made sure to represent his UVA pride by incorporating navy and orange into the wedding. Personally, I would have thought burgundy and orange would have been a better choice...go Hokies(I couldn't resist)! I wish you all the best!

Ruth Ann & Stacy - The Pines & Mandana Barn Wedding

Ruth Ann and Stacy's wedding weekend began on June 26, 2015 the same day the Supreme Court declared that same sex marriage is legal in all 50 states (amazing timing, right!!!). They started the festivities at The Pines, a sprawling camp on Skaneateles Lake that has been in Ruth Ann's family for over 100 years. It's a delightful place where childhood summers were spent and Ruth Ann made wonderful memories so it was a natural choice to gather their loved ones here to celebrate their union on the eve of their wedding day! The casual gathering felt much like a loving family reunion and it was filled with kids swimming and fishing, mayflies hatching, lakeside campfires, craft brews, laughter, ice-cream, Dinosaur BBQ, and potato guns! Check out the later part of this post to see some of the rehearsal dinner festivities. Their wedding day started out uneventful but as the day went on heavy rains arrived and they departed only for a few brief moments during the rest of the day. As hard as the rain fell it did not dampen Stacy or Ruth Ann's spirits, they were nothing but joy through it all (even when fierce winds knocked down their beautiful arbor during their ceremony). It was a complete pleasure documenting Stacy and Ruth Ann's Mandana Barn wedding celebration because they were so darn happy and because they put some much thought into everything. I especially love that they dined on their grandmother's and mother's china and the lip whistles they surprised their guests with at the ceremony so they could blow kisses at them during their first kiss as a married couple!

Melissa & Jordan - Frog Pond Wedding

I don't know even where to begin with Melissa & Jordan...I left their Frog Pond wedding wishing they (and all their friends) could be my new best friends! I have never been to a more entertaining/thoughtful/touching/funny/unique wedding! They made the ceremony and reception so remarkable by incorporating their incredibly talented friends and family in every aspect of the celebration. Some of the many highlights included a little stand-up comedy, a shakespeare reading, a cellist, a violinist, folk singers, wonderful toasts, and an opera singer! These two are simply wonderful!!! P.S. the Frog Pond is an amazing place to host a wedding, I hope to get many more Frog Pond weddings!!

Lizzie & Andrew - Lodge at Welch Allyn Wedding

Lizzie and Andrew are brilliant doctors fresh out of medical school and headed to L.A. to start their careers but before they make that transition they tied the knot in a lovely ceremony and reception at the Lodge at Welch Allyn. Their day was punctuated with periods of severe thunderstorms. Those storms added a lot of atmosphere...especially during the ceremony when Andrew slipped the ring on Lizzie's finger and in dramatic fashion intense thunder rumbled through the building and caused all in attendance to laugh, proving that mother nature must have a sense of humor and she certainly has good timing! Don't ever let anyone tell you that rain can ruin a wedding day, it simply adds to your story.

Rebecca & Luke - Rowland House Wedding

Rebecca and Luke met online and they wed a few years later in an intimate mid-November ceremony and reception at the Rowland House, it was the most perfect sweet little wedding to close out the busy year. I was nervous about the likelihood that we would be inside most of the day (I do love my natural light) but I had nothing to worry about because the backdrop of the Rowland House combined with Rebecca's and Luke's glow was all I needed to capture lovely moments!

Lizzie & Craig - Mirbeau Inn and Spa & Skaneateles Country Club Wedding

Lizzie and Craig started their wedding day off at the gorgeous Mirbeau Inn and Spa where they were pampered by their own personal beauty team brought in from New York City, these two spared no expense on their gold dusted wedding day in Skaneateles (just take a look at Craig's velvet shoes). We were surrounded by golden foliage, light, and upon arriving to the reception at the Skaneateles Country Club the banquet rooms were transformed with gilded touches everywhere. They provided plenty of entertainment and personalized touches for their guests. I loved the temporary tattoos that their guests completely embraced...I spotted them in all sorts of fun places on folks of all ages! Congrats Fava and Nunzio!
